Casa Azuloia is an old house made in the style of the Saloios, which were originally people living in the rural areas surrounding Lisbon. It is typically white and has doors and windows with a coloured bordering, usually blue or ochre. Casa Azuloia’s borderings are blue as it name suggests: “azul” is blue in Portuguese.
The original house was only 45 m² and it probably originates from the 19th century. The 21st century brought renovation and extension to it adding the bedrooms and bathroom. It now has 92 m² and offers sleeping places for 6 guests divided over 2 bedrooms and the living room. The bathroom includes a shower and towel warmer and the kitchen includes all necessary equipment including washing machine and dishwasher.
The cherry on the cake is the sea view, which you can enjoy already in the morning when you step out of the master bedroom’s door to the garden. All north-facing doors offer this view and then there is the roof terrace which allows you to see the beach of Aldeia do Meco, which goes all along the coast, and on a very clear day you can even spot Lisbon in the distance.
The garden is large and provides ample opportunities to sit at leisure, have breakfast outside and enjoy barbecues in the evenings. And if someday the wind coming from the ocean is a bit strong you will find shelter on the south side of the house in the shade of a tree. Besides, you can enjoy life in a truly Portuguese contemplative manner by sitting outside on a stone bench integrated into the house wall and do absolutely nothing.
Casa Azuloia is meant to be a haven of leisure to individuals, couples, groups of friends, and families. This also means that children will find that we thought of them: there is a cot, a high chair and inflatable children’s pool. And if anyone has special needs, you will find optimal accessibility within the house and supports in the bathroom.
At present Casa Azuloia still is under construction and it is expected to be available for rent from mid-July 2017. You can be the first ones to rent it!
